Vanessa was originally intended to be part of the fighting crew when her character was introduced to King of Fighters '99 Evolution but due to time constraints she couldn't be included. She is the first boxing female of the series and one of the first to use this style in fighting games. Vanessa is a housewife in her ordinary life and it's not really clear how she keeps her mercenary life from her family.

Vanessa is able to translocate to different locations at incredible speed and her punches are so powerful that she can punch the air and the shockwave can defeat opponents. She doesn't seem to be skilled enough to keep her shirt on though if this figurine is anything to go by.
